Prince Edward Island PNP Express Entry

Prince Edward Island is one of the three Maritime Provinces and is the smallest province in both land area and population, but the most densely populated.. Its capital is Charlottetown. According to the 2016 census, the province of Prince Edward Island has 142,907 residents.

The PEI PNP is Prince Edward Island’s Provincial Nominee Program. Through this program, prospective immigrants with the skills and experience targeted by the province may receive a Prince Edward Island Provincial Nomination Certificate, which will allow that foreign national to apply for Canadian permanent residence with processing times that are faster than other Canadian immigration classes.

There are three main categories under which PEI accept applications:

  • PEI PNP Express Entry.

The PEI PNP operates through an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Interested individuals must create a profile online and will be ranked based on human capital and adaptability factors. To be eligible for this stream one should have an active Express Entry. Only the highest-ranked individuals will be invited to submit an application.

  • Labour Impact Category

The province accepts applications under this category from individuals who possess skills and experience that are needed in PEI’s labour market. This stream basically requires either a job offer or education from PEI

  • Business Impact category

The province accepts applications under this category from individuals who wish to invest in and actively manage a PEI business.

Here we will only discuss PEI Express Entry Stream.

There are six areas with associated points with this stream. The maximum points are 100. If evidence of proficiency in both official languages is submitted a bonus of 10 points will be awarded. A draw is conducted every month and people with maximum score are invited to apply to province with a set of documents and fees of $300.

You can get 10 bonus points if you have proof of language proficiency in both English and French. Points are provided as per CLB/NCLC level attained in language test.
