Ontario issued 901 NOIs in consecutive draws

Ontario PNP conducted consecutive draws in 2 days and invited 901 Express Entry candidates under the Skilled Trades Stream and French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream of the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP).

Skilled Trades Stream Draw

Ontario invited 758 candidates from Skilled Trades Stream on 17 June 2020, in their biggest draw for this stream since January 2018. All candidates invited have an active express entry profile under federal skilled trades eligibility.

All the candidates who are invited have their CRS scores between 400 and 436 in their express entry profile. This is the only second draw for the Skilled trade stream this year, Earlier in April 2020, OINP invited 190 candidates from the targeted priority occupations. However, this draw was a general draw.

French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream Draw

The second draw was conducted on 18 June 2020. OINP invited 143 express entry candidates from French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream. This is the special sub-stream of the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP), which started for bilingual candidates who have proficiency in the french language apart from English.

All the invited candidates have the CRS score of between 424 and 436 and meet all eligibility requirements for French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.

Till now Ontario has conducted three draws this month, Apart from these consecutive draws, OINP also conducted a draw for Human Capital Priorities Stream on June 03, 2020, and issued 167 NOIs under priority occupations.

Both streams are aligned with the Federal Express Entry Stream. Therefore to be eligible for these draw candidates need to meet all the requirements of federal express entry stream apart from OINP requirements. Candidates are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of out of 1200 in Express Entry profile based on factors like age, work experience, education, language score, and adaptability factors.

Candidates are required to select the Ontario or all province as one of the destination provinces to be eligible for OINP. After receiving the Notification of Interest (NOI), candidates are given 45 days to submit the complete application online through the OINP portal with PNP fees of CAD 1500 $.

After getting the successful nomination candidates are issued an additional 600 points in their Express Entry profile which boosts their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and assure them an Invitation to apply in the subsequent Express Entry Draw.

Like other Provincial Nominee Programs, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) also received its 2020 nomination allocation from the federal government. OINP is allocated a quota of 7,350 nominations and an additional 250 nominations specifically for temporary foreign workers in intermediate skilled occupations (National Occupation Classification [NOC] – Skill Level C).
