BC PNP Tech Pilot Draw: 74 invitation issued

The latest BC PNP tech pilot draw witnessed 74 invitations under various categories. This draw was conducted under Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC and candidates with a minimum score of 80 were invited.

Categories in BC PNP Tech Pilot draw

  • SI – Skilled Worker
  • SI – International Graduate
  • EEBC – Skilled Worker
  • EEBC – International Graduate

The minimum score requirement was the same for all categories and a total of 74 invitations were distributed among all 4 categories. BC PNP does not release category wise invitations data. This is one of the most popular streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program. Started especially for technology workers.

BC PNP tech pilot program was initiated in 2017 and now it has been extended till June’2021. The special pathway allows British Columbia Government, to nominate potential candidates from the technology sector who can cater to the ongoing demand of the labor market.

The invited candidates must have a valid job offer that must meet the following criteria such as:

  • The Job offer must be from any one of the 29 occupations listed by the BC PNP officials.
  • The job offer must be for at least one year i.e. 365 days
  • There must be at least 120 days remaining in the job offer at the time of submitting your application under the British Columbia Tech pilot program

Earlier, BC PNP used to exclude some of the NOC from the list due to COVID-19 impact on the British Columbia job market but in this draw, no such restrictions were implemented, Therefore all 29 occupations were considered eligible for this draw.

The express entry candidates who receive an invitation from the province of British Columbia need to apply with the complete application within 30 days from the date of invitation.

A successful nomination to an applicant grants 600 CRS points in their Express Entry profile, which ensures them an Invitation to apply in the subsequent draw.

How BC PNP Tech Pilot works

BC PNP draw is conducted weekly and candidates who have registered with a valid job offer from 29 technology occupations are invited to apply.

For registration, candidates need to provide information about their supporting employer. Both employer and employee need to meet the program recruitment to be eligible for the invitation, although being eligible does not guarantee an invitation.
